Folks, I take this seriously. I take this as a personal assignment. It's one I task myself with, because I know that by doing the hard work of visualizing my future, I am laying the required groundwork to make it happen.
Fun experiment: Where ever you are right now, find something to blindfold yourself with. The experiment is simple: Blindfold yourself, then just try getting up and going to use the bathroom. Make it a good blindfold. No peeking. The value of vision. QED. As I define my Personal Ground Hog Day, I am defining my vision for the future and painting that picture in my mind. (There's a super-powerful, hidden force at work here. To fully understand and utilize that force, please go to the Napolean Hill Foundation website and get the book Think and Grow Rich. Read it at least three times in the next 6 months.) Once I have the picture painted in my mind, I have the power to achieve it. It's that simple. Now let's get down to the hard work of defining it. I want a notebook and pen, iPad, computer, or some easy, non-distracting way to write out in detail the answers to all these questions. Start of the day: What time did I wake up? How? Where, and with whom? What were my waking thoughts? How did I feel when I woke up? How did I feel about the coming day? What did I do before I got out of bed? When did I get out of bed? What did I do between getting out of bed and eating breakfast? Who was I with? What was I wearing? What were my thoughts? What did I have for breakfast? Where did I eat and with whom? What was I thinking about while eating? What was going on around me? How did I feel about the day ahead? This is phase one. I want to take my time and think about these and write down my answers in detail. As I do, I know that nothing is set in stone, and I am free to come back and re-write my future anytime I please. A funny thing about this, is many folks have thought about bits of future goals and desires, but not the big picture of the life they want to live. As I did this, I will say, things changed. Things changed a lot. Revision number 437 came around pretty fast, when I never expected a revision number 3. Good luck!
