Ability to travel overnight for 3-4 days at a time, a few times a year.

Job Description, Duties:

• Fitness Equipment Service Technicians perform these things on a routine basis.
• Receive an inbound service call: (My treadmill is broken. Please help!)
• Get detailed information over the phone (Model and serial number of equipment, description of problem, etc).
  
• Look up detailed equipment information, manuals, parts lists, service info online.
  
• Call and or email with manufacturer's technical support staff.
  
• Schedule an onsite troubleshooting/assessment visit ASAP.
• Look up detailed information on the equipment and other equipment at the service location.
  
• Assemble the required tools for the job.
• Print out work orders, invoices, service checklists in multiple copies.
  
• Drive to service locations.
  
• Contact the customer and ask more questions.
  
• Troubleshoot equipment.
  
• Identify faults.
  
• Make repairs and adjustments.
  
• Lubricate equipment.
  
• Clean. Wipes down. Vacuum equipment and work spaces.
  
• Calibrate electronic control boards with on board potentiometers.
  
• Identify AC and DC voltages, measure AC current, check for continuity using a volt ohm meter. 
  
• Make an initial estimate of the cost of the repair.
• Discuss options with the client.
• Discuss with factory technical support.
• Make repairs if possible, on the spot.
  
• Discuss repair/replace options with the client.
• Set up a time to follow up, either with further repairs, service, or communication on cost or availability of parts.
• Identify repair parts needed.
  
• Receive repair parts.
• Schedule return visit.
• Schedule routine service visit at some point in the future.
• Communicate with the team about anything that would be of benefit to the client.
• Read technical service manuals.
• Attend Factory Certification training (not routine)

Pay and Compensation:
This is where the rubber meets the road. At the end of the day, we work to make money, in order to have  the life we want!  This is your chance to get it.
We do business a little differently than most.  We have flat rate charges for service and repairs.  Beginners who are learning typically take a long time to do jobs, so they have a fairly low hourly pay rate, when looking at it from that perspective. For example, lets say we charge $100 to change a treadmill drive belt.  This job should take the skilled technician about 45 minutes. It might take a beginner 90 minutes.
